Corinna’s 100lb Weight Loss Success Story

BEEWEIGHED’S FIRST 100lb LOSER!

Corinna received her 100lb award at Denton’s meeting yesterday.  Andrew Gwynne MP and his lovely wife Allison attended and presented her with her award.   The meeting was absolutely ‘buzzing’ with excitement and encouragement for Corinna.  She has allowed me to create this blog to share her weight loss journey story.  Lots of before and after pictures too!  Happy reading everyone!! 🙂

Corinna’s own words….

Here’s my story…..

Growing up I was always conscious about my weight, even though looking back now, I had no reason to be. Until about 20 years old I was a curvy size 12.

After going through some very hard times my mental health took a nose dive and I started seeking comfort in food, and relied on red bull to give me the energy to get me through the day, before I knew it I had piled on the pounds.

At the age of 22 I had put on 11 stone in weight and because of this I developed Plantar Fasciitis.  This meant that walking and standing was very painful, this also meant it was even more difficult to exercise.

It wasn’t until I went wedding dress shopping that I actually realised how big I’d become, I felt awful in everything I tried on. I knew that I didn’t want to feel like that on my wedding day and that I had to do something about it.

My confidence was at rock bottom but I plucked up the courage and joined a weight loss group.  It was so hard to walk through the door and actually admit that I had a problem.  I had to face up to the scales.

I was totally shocked at what the numbers said.  But I knew that I would never see them numbers again.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming at the group.  I knew that this was the group that was going to help me do it.

I set myself a goal to lose 3 stone for my wedding, which was a year from the day I joined. With the help of our group leader, Lynda, I managed to lose 4 stone!

It was hard at times sticking to the plan but the compliments from people and noticing my body shape change, and my health improve made it all so worth it. Life of course has it’s ups and downs and so has my weight loss journey.

There’s been gains and losses but Lynda has helped and supported me every step of the way.

When Lynda started BEEWEIGHED I found out that I was expecting. I was over the moon!

I didn’t have an easy pregnancy and after my little girl was born, I joined BEEWEIGHED and plucked up the courage to get back on the scales. I now had a bigger purpose to get to my goal weight. My little girl doesn’t deserve a fat mum! I want to set a good example for her and want to be able to run around with her and do all of the things my mum did with me. To my surprise I had only gained 6lb! I knew with hard work and determination I could get this off in a couple of weeks.

I stuck to my plan and managed to get the gain of only 6lbs off within 2 weeks. It was 6 weeks until Easter and I set myself a goal of losing a further stone. I managed to lose a further stone and a half! I found that setting myself mini goals was working for me. I’ve now lost 102lbs.

I’m hoping that I can lose 2lb a week and to reach my overall goal of losing 10 stone for Christmas.

Losing weight is hard! But being fat is hard! You just have to choose one. If I can do this, anybody can.

Tips – Set yourself mini goals rather than one big goal, I swear by quorn chilli (filling, tasty and no points) and if you have a bad day, just start again.
