TACKLING FOOD CRAVINGS

Food cravings arise to satisfy emotional needs, such as calming stress and reducing anxiety, boredom and even huger.  For many of us, cravings mainly kick into high gear when we’re stressed or anxious.

BEAT THE CRAVINGS

Tips to beat food cravings
  1. Eat small and frequent meals to prevent spikes in hunger.
  2. Consume plenty of fibre and protein to ensure you’re satisfied
  3. Don’t keep trigger foods in the house. If you have to put them in the garage or out of sight.
  4. Keep yourself busy. Distraction techniques will be discussed in meetings.
  5. When in doubt, give in to a healthy snack.
  6. Have a pint of water.
  7. If you still are craving the specific food – have it but in moderation.
